Multiple groups gathered in Selma on Thanksgiving to feed the needy and homeless and those that didn’t have anywhere else to go.

Different types of people came together on a holiday to give thanks.

However, families across the nation still experience hunger even on this holiday.

According to My Pocket Change, an organization based out of Culver City, California,

42.2 million Americans are still on Food Stamps, an average cost for a Thanksgiving Dinner is $49.20 which equates to 6.8 hours of minimum wage work or 18 percent of the average household’s monthly food stamp benefit.

Thanksgiving for some is a stressful time, and some still go without food or shelter.

We are thankful for groups on Thursday that took time out of their holiday time to give back to the needy and homeless.

They make the holidays a better experience.
