The Selma Police Department (SPD) is investigating a burglary at the St. James Hotel on Water Avenue.

SPD Chief Spencer Collier said officers discovered a forced entry at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday night.

Officers cleared the scene around 8:40 p.m., according to Collier.

“There was minimal damage done to St. James,” he said. “It appears alcohol was stolen. We processed the scene and did recover evidence. We will continue to investigate.”
