Sanchez said he extends an open invitation to “proud Americans to join him at Memorial Stadium for the memorial service held annually in remembrance of those who served, many of whom paid the ultimate price, so that we, and I do mean all of us, could enjoy the freedoms and the liberties that we all take for granted.”

Sanchez said all of the traditions will be kept in this year’s Veterans Day service.

“Yes, we all will sing ‘The National Anthem,’” said Sanchez. “Yes, we all will say the Pledge of Allegiance to our flag and yes, we all will place our hands over our hearts while reciting the pledge. Yet, it amazes me to see thousands that turn out for the Central Alabama Fair, and thousands more that attend the Jubilees, but we can only muster a handful to attend the service that honors those who made it all possible.”
