Selma Quarterback Club closes November with three more speakers

The Selma Quarterback Club will have its final three meetings of the year next month at the Carl C. Morgan Convention Center.

Troy University athletic director Jeremy McClain will be the next speaker on Nov. 5.

The Nov. 12 meeting is Ladies Night and will feature ESPN broadcaster Holly Rowe. Rowe is a veteran sports reporter who has been entrenched in covering a variety of sports including SEC football and NCAA softball.

The final meeting of the QB Club will be held on Nov. 19 and will host reporter and broadcaster Lauren Sisler of ESPN, SEC Nation and AL.com. Sisler joined the SEC Network in 2016 covering football and gymnastics.

On the same night that Sisler speaks, it will also be the Scholarship Night and Big Ticket Drawing for the QB Club.

The Selma QB Club annually awards five scholarships to local high school football players. The money that is raised through membership fees, contests. The Big Ticket Drawing goes towards funding scholarships for the kids.

In 2017, the QB Club also established an endowment at both The University of Alabama and Auburn University to provide aid each year to a student from the Dallas County area.
