The Black Belt Community Foundation (BBCF) just began its third annual “Throw and Go Contest.”
The fundraiser’s top prize is two tickets to the Nov. 24 Iron Bowl contest between No. 1 Alabama and Auburn, which will be played at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa. A donor to BBCF donated the tickets.
”One of the few things that can compete with Alabama’s love of football is its spirit of giving and helping neighbors,” BBCF President Felecia Lucky said. “We are excited to launch this successful campaign for the third year in a row. Putting our team spirit to work by investing resources back into our communities is helping to uplift and transform the Black Belt for a bright future.”
Potential participants will be asked to give a $5 donation for a ticket that creates an entry for the prize drawing. The tickets will be placed in a container. One of BBCF’s Board of Directors will be randomly selected to pull one ticket from the container on Nov. 16. The name that is pulled out will be the one chosen to participate in the contest. The BBCF Community Associate Program Officer or BBCF President will contact the contestant immediately following the drawing. The Community Associate Program Officer will schedule the “Throw and Go Skills Contest” before the Iron Bowl.
For the contest, the contestant will have three tries to complete a 12-yard pass to a BBCF Staff Member.
The BBCF was created by the BBCF’s Associates to support the Black Belt Leadership Development Program, Young Men and Boys of Color Initiative, the Black Belt Believe and Achieve Education Initiative, and the Community Grants Program.
