It is a tough job keeping a community safe.
Whether you are catching criminals, putting out fires or preserving life while on the way to the hospital in the back of an ambulance, the jobs of first responders are in constant stress and peril to keep the rest of us safe.
When the Knights of Columbus hosted a luncheon for the first responders of Dallas County, it is the least anyone could do for the people that put their life on the line for us every day.
One of our officers was ambushed a few weeks ago, and the support that the community has shown I that we are grateful for our first responders and everything they do for us.
Selma Fire Chief Toney Stevens praised the Knights of Columbus for their heartfelt gesture.
“This is outstanding and something that was needed and appreciated,” Stevens said. “There’s no value you can put on law enforcement and the fire department for putting their lives on the line.”
We agree.
There is no value we can put on law enforcement and fire department for putting their lives on the line for us.
They deserve our full support.
