Frances Ruth Mills McMillian , 81, died Monday, Sept 24th in Montgomery after a lengthy illness. She was born September 17,1937 to Ada Ruth Capps Mills and George Cornelius Mills of Monticello, Florida.
Frances was a fourth Generation North Floridian who moved to Selma from Perry, Florida in 1963. She is survived her daughter, Kim Walker, Berkeley, California, her sons Ross McMillian Valley Grande, Mark McMillian ( Ginger ) Prattville, granddaughters Stephanie
Linner ( Daren) Berkeley California, Jessica Fischer ( Shaun ) Huntsville, grandson, Matt Duke ( Chelsea), Berkeley, California, great granddaughter Milla Etheridge, Huntsville, and great grandson Dylan Linner, Berkeley, California.
Frances loved to paint, play piano, and write poetry. She spent many years playing piano for residents of Dunn Nursing Home and Sunday School classes at Elkdale Baptist Church where she was a member for over 40 years.
She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and they her. She will be remembered for her beauty and grace and greatly missed by her family.
The family will hold a private memorial service. Donations may be made to The American Heart Association, a No Kill Animal Shelter , or a favorite charity.
