In a time of questionable political protests involving our national anthem and the American flag, the gifting of a new flag from the American Legion Post to the Meadowview Christian School on Friday taught a valuable lesson in patriotism and pride.

The upkeep and care that the school and the post showed that there is still importance in having pride in the symbols that represent your nation.

We are thankful that there are still those like the veterans in the American Legion post that want to instill the need for pride in our nation by taking care of the symbols that represent it.

This also teaches the upcoming adults in the schools that there is still a place for patriotism and pride in the country, and it is something we should not be ashamed of.
