Golfers gathered at the Valley Grande Golf Course for the annual Golf Tournament to help raise funds for Selma-Dallas County Sav-A-Life.

The nonprofit is a non-denominational Christian ministry serving those in Dallas County and the surrounding areas that are facing a crisis pregnancy and are unsure of their options.

Jennifer Dobbs, executive director of Selma-Dallas County Sav-A-Life, said fundraisers like the golf tournament help fund the ministry.

The tournament was a three-man scramble.

At the end of the tournament, Bob Frazier, Tory Harville and Heath Harrelson finished in first place.

First place prize was $100 cash, second place was $75 cash prize and third place was $50 in cash prize.

Dobbs said this event helps raise funds for equipment and the day to day operations for the nonprofit.

“We don’t get enough funding monthly to be able to sustain us, so we to do these fundraisers just to be able to pay for the bills and for all of the equipment that is necessary to be able to offer our services to these families,” Dobbs said. “Since 1973, over 52 million babies have lost their life due to the act of abortion. No woman wants to have an abortion,” Dobbs said. “They just don’t feel like they have the support that they need to be able to give life to the child. What better cause can you support than the literal life of an unborn baby?”
