Selma Schools approve start of year personnel

The Selma City School Board approved numerous personnel actions at their July 17 meeting.

At Knox Elementary Schools, Angelia Davis was approved as a third-grade teacher.

At Edgewood Elementary School, Dianne Hagstrom was approved as a first-grade teacher and Dr. Margaret Jones was approved as the new principal.

At Selma High School, Zakiya Thomas-Couch was approved as a Spanish teacher, Daniel Wiley was approved as a history teacher, Timothy Talton was approved as a welding teacher and Jason Munford was approved as an assistant principal.

At R.B. Hudson Middle School, Shawanda Talton was approved as a special education teacher and Lexia Banks was approved as a history teacher.

At Meadowview Elementary School, Adrian Russell was approved as a physical education teacher.

At Kingston/Cedar Park Elementary School, Dr. Collin Lashley was approved as a school counselor.

At School of Discovery, LaMorris Jones was approved as an ELA Teacher.

Professional Classified Services approved included:

At Clark Elementary School, Ryan Johnson was approved as a CNP custodian, Sabrina Lewis was approved as a CNP custodian and Latoya Smitherman Scott was approved as a secretary and bookkeeper.

At Selma High School, Jacqueline Thomas was approved as a CNP cook.

At Meadowview Elementary School, Lofloso Marshall, was approved as a CNP manager.

At R.B. Hudson Middle School, Kalvin Monroe was approved as a custodian.

Supplemental professional certified services approved included:

Hudson Middle School, Eugene Foster was approved as an assistant athletic director and baseball coach, Erica Lumpkin was approved as the girls’ basketball coach, Derrick Randolph was approved as the boys’ basketball coach for seventh and eighth-grade, Ashlyn Goodwin was approved as the cheerleading coach, Eugene Foster was approved as the head football coach, Derrick Randolph was approved as an assistant football coach and Dexter Patterson was approved as an assistant football coach.

At Selma City School system in general, Kristy Bettis was approved as a softball coach, Katasha Turner was approved as a head track and field coach and head volleyball coach, Christopher Raymond was approved as an assistant track and field coach, a strength and conditioning coach and over facility and equipment, Veronica Pitts was approved as the senior sponsor, Colin Lett was approved as the choir director, Tara Burks was approved as the flag team sponsor, Tamesha Coleman was approved as the dance line instructor, Stanley King was approved as a percussion instructor, De’Andre Wilson was approved as an assistant football coach and as a head football coach, Darrel Davis was approved as an assistant girls’ basketball coach, Kelcey Smith was approved as an assistant girls’ basketball coach, Eshwaa Godfrey was approved as a head cheerleader coach, Christopher Raymond was approved as an athletic director and as a head football coach, Justin Kelly was approved as an assistant baseball coach, Ronald Lane was approved as a head boys’ basketball coach and Anthony Harris was approved as a head girls’ basketball coach.

The board also approved eight resignations.
