A 13-person team with Integrity Worldwide is leaving for Meto, Kenya today, and the majority of the team are Selma residents.

After preparing for months, this team “is ready to show the love of Christ through medical and dental care, and donating Bibles from our May is for Meto fundraiser, and to be a light in every situation.”

According to a release from Integrity Worldwide, the team also will be able to attend the grand opening of the Integrity Health Medical and Dental Clinic, which also was built by the donations of Selma residents and others around the world.

The clinic will be the first and only of its kind in a remote region of Kenya, and will give life saving healthcare to thousands of men, women and children, who otherwise were on their own.

The grand opening of the clinic will be June 27.

Selma and Dallas County residents going on the trip include Angela and Anna Williard. It will be a return trip for Anna, who just graduated from Morgan Academy, and a first trip for Angela. Angela is a nurse for Phillips Healthcare, and said she has always wanted to serve on a medical mission. Both said they were excited to see what God has in store for the trip.

Deandra Looney also is attending the trip.

Looney is a nurse in the Operating Room at Vaughan regional Medical Center. She said she is thrilled to go to Meto and that it has been a desire for her since she finished Nursing School.

Dr. Donnie Russell, a dentist from Selma was one of the first dentists from Selma to ever do dental work in Meto, Kenya years ago when it all began. He said he is excited to get to use the latest dental equipment at the Integrity Health Medical and Dental Clinic.

Nez and Kellie Vaval also will attend the trip.

They were able to see the beginnings of the Integrity Health Medical and Dental Clinic last year.

This year, the couple is returning as team co-leaders.

Morgan Academy graduate, Sarah Mitchell Wagoner said this trip was the perfect place to be before she leaves for school at Tory University for the fall. She said she hopes to see God work in ways she has never seen before and to experience his love on a deeper level.

Integrity Worldwide founders Dr. Alan and Averee Hicks will be leading the missionary team.
