Whenever a member of Selma’s youth works hard and represents the city the way Nivory Gordon III has, its residents should be immensely proud. Recently, Gordon was selected to one of the highest honors a student can receive at the University of Alabama, winning the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award.

The University of Alabama has many distunguished awards to give to dedicated students hoping to achieve higher learning, and Gordon’s inclusion with these students represents Selma in the best of ways possible. A man who wants to go on and be an attorney, Selma and its residents will continue to support him on his journey.

Selma has a long history of its youth going on to achieve greatness at a number of universities inside and outside of the state. Gordon’s achievement is a continuation of this success.
