Members from top to bottom of Bush Hog Mowers Inc. teamed up to show their support for raising awareness surrounding breast cancer, while also getting creative with how they could benefit the cause financially.

On April 24, the team ran and walked as a part of the Walk of Life 5k Run/Walk. The purpose of the 5k goes beyond just raising awareness, but raises money to help individuals struggling to afford mammograms that they need for breast screenings.

In addition to running for the cause, Bush Hog wanted to do something memorable and impactful for the community and those living with breast cancer.

To achieve this, the team came up with the unique idea of annually donating a pink ZT mower which is taken on tours to farm shows across the United States.

All the proceeds from the mower go towards an organization known as “Joy to Life Foundation,” which supports breast cancer efforts.

Those interested in the pink mower and/or making a donation to the Joy for Life, go to www.shopbushhoggear.com and click on the “Joy to Life Tickets” link.
A ticket to enter the raffle for the pink mower is $10.

For Bush Hog, this is not the first time they have given back to the community and to national efforts. Recently, the company donated four zero-turn mowers to the City of Selma government to assist their public service operations.

According to Bush Hog’s Selma President, Jerry Worthington, giving back is in their DNA. With over 15 people participating in the 5k last month, their good intentions stood out.
They wanted to show they care about supporting breast cancer initiatives as well. Through supporting individuals in need of mammograms, Bush Hog shows they understand the importance of detecting and treating breast cancer as early as possible.

“We are proud to work with a fellow Alabama organization in this critical cause,” Worthington said. “Breast cancer has impacted the lives of our families and our Bush Hog family. Every life that can be saved by early detection and treatment is a blessing.”
