81-year-old killed Friday night after being struck by car

An 81-year-old Selma man was killed Friday evening after he was hit by a car on Matthew Lane.

According to Senior Trooper Reginal King with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Charles E. Sau Spencer was killed when he was struck by a 2001 Chevrolet Monte Carlo around 6:10 p.m.

King said Spencer was pronounced dead on the scene of the single-vehicle accident. He said the driver of the vehicle was not injured.

Matthew Lane is around two miles east of Selma off of Alabama Highway 14 East headed toward Prattville.

No details on how the accident occurred have been released at this point in the investigation by Alabama State Troopers. The investigation is ongoing.
