The Keith High School girls basketball team did something this year no other team from Selma or Dallas County did this season — they made it to Birmingham to play in the Final Four of the AHSAA Class 2A Semifinals.

Despite losing Monday night to Sand Rock, the team, coaches and school should be proud. We are proud of the team for making it that far in the tournament. It is hard to win an area tournament, much less the entire tournament for the championship. The team should be welcomed back with a round of applause and much congratulations.

Although the team won’t bring home a championship, it should be proud of its accomplishments and how far it made it. Not every team gets that chance. Congratulations on a job well done, ladies. We hope to see you there again next year.
