Terrel Henry Smith, 58, passed away Feb. 7, 2018, at Park Place Nursing Home.

Family visitation is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 9, 2018, from 6-8pm at Ashley’s J. H. Williams & Sons Chapel.

Funeral Services are scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, at 2 p.m., at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Fredrick Hardy officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery with Ashley’s J.H. Williams & Sons directing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, H.D. Smith Jr. and Geneva Glover Smith; and brother, Daniel E. Smith.

He is survived by his daughter, Danielle A. Smith, sister, Dr. Constance Smith Hendricks, niece Dr. Denisha L. Hendricks, Step-Grandmother, Frankie M. Glover and many cousins and extended family. Terrel was a member of First Baptist Church.

He graduated from Alabama Lutheran Academy, Wallace Community College in Applied Science, University of Alabama at Birmingham in Medical Laboratory Technology and Auburn University with a BS in Environmental Studies. Prior to his extended illness he was an active member of the Pride of Alabama Elks, Twelve High Club, and the Masonic Lodge, and numerous professional organizations.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made to the C & D Enterprises Foundation Scholarship Fund to benefit students from Alabama’s Black Belt majoring in Nursing, Sport Management, Medical Technology, or Environmental Science.
