Inez Vick Piper was born June 11, 1929, in Surginer, to Elbert Vick and Irene Leonard Vick. She passed from this life on Jan. 21, 2018, at Thomasville Health Care and Rehabilitation Center with cherished family by her side.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Piper. She is survived by a brother, Ray Vick of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida; daughter, Vickie (Tim) Fendley of Thomasville; granddaughters, Emily Bell of Brandon, Florida and Jennifer Bell of Tampa, Florida; great-granddaughter, Rachel Inez Rothenbusch of Tampa, Florida; and several cousins.

Inez was retired from J.C. Penney Corporation in Selma and was a member of Barrett Road UMC in Selma. In her retirement years she thoroughly enjoyed serving as a Pink Lady in the Ladies Auxiliary at Selma Medical Center and giving tours at Sturdivant Hall. Always busy, she was never happier than when working in her yard among her flowers and plants that covered the landscape. Inez still found time to be of service to her friends and neighbors and share her gift of playing the piano at a Selma nursing home. She was known for her beautiful smile.
