The late deacon Willie Ester Moorer Jr., 90, resident of Selma, died in Selma. Service is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018, at 11 a.m., Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 1416 Selma Avenue, Selma, Alabama 36703 with the Rev. Joshua Davis, officiant, and  the Rev. Dr. Willie Jackson, eulogist. Interment will be Pineview Memory Gardens, 5171 AL Hwy 22, Selma, AL 36701. Directed by Miller Funeral Home Inc.

He was married to the late Mrs. Florence Mack Moorer for 68 years. Parents were the late Mr. Willie Moorer Sr. and Mrs. Lucy Newberry Thigpen. This union was blessed with 14 children.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence; two sons, Johnny Moorer and Erskine Moorer; and three brothers, John Moorer, Hugh Moorer and Lee Andrew Green Sr.

Survivors include: four sons, Willie (Sheree) Moorer III, of Temple Hills, Maryland; Danny Moorer of Bellflower, California; Wayne (Falecia) Moorer, of Perris, California; Barry (Sharon) Moorer of Melbourne, Florida; eight daughters, Ann Wiley, Phyllis (Kennedy) Watts, Shelia (Marvin) Rhodes and Norita Moorer all of Selma, Elizabeth (Fred) Harris of Detroit, Michigan; Doris (Otis) Davis of Dallas, Georgia; Danita (Willie) Parker of New Ellenton, South Carolina; Marilyn (Antonio) Jones of Fayetteville, Georgia; brothers, Henry (Eula) Moorer of Pittsfield, Massachusetts; Robert (Helen) Moorer of Birmingham; Charles (Velma) Moorer of Selma; Moses Moorer of Camden; sisters, Wilma (Willie) Perryman and  Willie Jane Hrobowski of Birmingham; Lynn Eaton of Selma; sister-in-law, Julia Green, of Selma; 53 grandchildren; 82 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends to cherish his memory.
