Mrs. Mae Lois Jemison Pettaway, 86, of Dallas County passed away Dec. 29, 2017, in Perry County. Services are scheduled for Jan. 6, 2018, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Kirk Ellison Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Everdale Baptist Church Cemetery with Randall Miller Funeral Service directing.

She is preceded in death by her parents, A.C. Jemison and Mamie Griffin Jemison. She is survived by four sons, Allen Pettaway, Grady Pettaway, Wrench Pettaway III and Gregory Pettaway; three brothers, McArthur (LeFloris) Jemison, Fredrick (Minister Rosie) Jemison and James (Minister Betty) Jemison; brother-in-law, Rev. Collins Pettaway; four sisters, Helen Jemison (Leroy) Stewart, Bernice Jemison (James) Polnitz, Doris Jemison Johnson and Gloria Simmons; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
