Virginia Ann (Pugh) Williams, age 81, passed away December 11, 2017, at the home of her daughter.

A native of Selma, she was born Feb. 23, 1936, the second of four children, to parents Lemma and Dennis Pugh.

Virginia graduated from Parrish High School in 1954 as well as from the University of Alabama in 1958, with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. She began her nursing career at various hospitals settling in Tuscaloosa, where she worked until retirement from Bryce Hospital. Among her many interests were sewing and playing her organ.

Virginia leaves to mourn her daughters Teresa Mashburn, Patricia Edwards and Leslie (Terry) Homan, sister Mabel (Pugh) Sewell, brother James Pugh, her four grandchildren, Jennifer, Robin, Michael and Scott, eight great-grandchildren and 10 nieces and nephews.

Virginia is predeceased by her parents and sister, Ruth (Pugh) Russell.

The Selma Funeral Home, Valley Grande, AL, has been entrusted with funeral arrangements which will be shared at a later date.
