Once again the Walton Theater is filled with hundreds of different items from local artists and crafters, as well as other vendors, for the annual Holiday House.

In its 39th year, the Christmas shop gives locals a place to sell their arts and crafts and shoppers a place to buy unique gifts that can’t be found in other stores. But the Holiday House does more than just that.

It also raises money for the Old Depot Museum, which houses much of the city’s rich history.

Beth Spivey, curator of the museum, said the shop has helped raise money that allowed her to renovate the museum. She said it has paid for enlarging photographs and new lighting.

The shop opened Monday and will be open through Dec. 16. Make sure to stop by and support local artists as well as the museum.

They are both very important to our community. There’s sure to be something for everyone in the Holiday House.
