Mona Sybil (Woolley) Whitacre, of Valley Grande, passed away on Monday, Nov. 13, 2017.

Her daughter Pamela Holaday was by her side.

She was a fighter. She fought a 60-year battle with diabetes and took care of her husband, Joseph Whitacre, until he passed away in 2016.

She was the daughter of Mary and George Woolley of Selma. In 1958, she married her life-long husband, Joseph Whitacre.

She was such a blessing to her family and will be missed.

She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Holaday, (husband, Larry); son, Mike Whitacre (wife, Roxann); grandchildren, Jennifer (Wayne) Acox, Patrick Holaday, Katelynn Bolt and Travis Whitacre; great-grandchildren, Sara Greenway, Jesica Greenway, Kyle Acox and Cody Acox; and one great-great grandchild, Teeghen Hatch.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 24, 2017, at Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Steve Kopp officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow at Pineview Memory Gardens.
