Jo Ann (Cole) Hester, 66, of Selma, passed away Nov. 18, 2017, at her home with Aseracare Hospice.

Services will be at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home Tuesday, Nov. 21 with vitiation at 10 a.m., funeral at 11 a.m. and followed by graveside service with family only.

Pastors James Duke Jr. and Arthur Thomas are officiating.

She is preceded in death by her parents, David Talmadge (D.T.) Cole and Jewel Ellen (Jockisch) Cole.

She is survived by her husband, John Wesley Hester Sr.; sons, John Wesley Hester Jr. and Anthony Scott (Lisa) Hester; sister, Mary Ellen Cole; grandchildren, Austin Scott Hester, Katy Jewel Hester and Zachary Cole Hester.

She retired from Bell South, where she worked as a dispatcher for 32 years.

Jo Ann was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, church member and a friend to all who knew her. She loved her Lord and is at peace with Him now.

Pallbearers are Austin Scott Hester, James Mahand, Mike Smedley, Donald Holbrook, Danny Hoggle and Steve Cezar.

Honorary Pallbearers will be AseraCare Hospice, Dr. Charles Gross, Dr. Ariel Anguiano, Bonnie Smedley, Sarah Elam, Ann Sommers, Beth Magyar, Sue Williams and members of West End Baptist church.

The family would like to thank all those family members and friends who visited, brought food, gave flowers and called to check on Jo Ann during her illness.
