While we should honor our veterans each and every day, this day is set aside to honor them. Veterans Day is a day to remember those that have fought for our freedom and for those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice.

There are many veterans here in Selma and Dallas County, and we salute you. Without the brave men and women of the military, we would not be able to enjoy the freedoms we have today. They have endured what many were not brave or courageous enough to do, and for that, we thank you.

If you haven’t told a veteran thank you yet today, be sure to do so. Let them know that they are very much appreciated.
