Tickets on sale for Farm City Week breakfast

The Selma and Dallas County Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Information, in conjunction with the Central Alabama Farmer’s Co-Op, Alabama AG Credit, ALFA, the Alabama Cooperative Extension System and the Orrville Farmer’s Market, will be hosting the annual Farm City Week Breakfast on Thursday, Nov. 9 at 7:30 a.m. at the Co-Op (2519 US Hwy 80).
“Farm-City Week is a chance to educate children and adults about the contributions farmers make to society and how rural families depend on their city neighbors,” said Sheryl Smedley, executive director of the Selma and Dallas County Chamber of Commerce. “We are thrilled this year to be joined by Judy McKinney, Orrville Farmer’s Market.
Tickets are $10 and reservations can be made by calling the Chamber at (334)875-7241 through Monday, Nov. 6.
“We always look forward to the Farm City Week Breakfast as a way to bridge traditional divides between urban and rural life,” Smedley said.“This year we are especially pleased to be joined by Judy McKinney of the Orrville Farmer’s Market, speaking on “there’s a farmer in all of us’ encouraging everyone to grow something. We invite anyone with a passion for relationship building or thirst for knowledge to join us at one of our favorite annual happenings.”
