A 50-year-old Pine Hill man has been arrested and charged with capital murder for allegedly gunning down two men in late September.
According to District Attorney Michael Jackson, Isiah Smith was arrested Wednesday by the Fourth Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force, Pine Hill Police Department and federal probation officers after a warrant was issued for his arrest Monday.
According to court documents, Smith is accused of shooting and killing 55-year-old Lloyd Carson and 49-year-old Charles Mallory.
Jackson said the double murder is drug related. He said Carson was found shot to death inside of his car, and Malloy was gunned down inside of a house.
Jackson said at the time of the murders, Smith was on federal probation for prior drug charges. Court records indicate Smith has a criminal history, including robbery, receiving stolen property, altering a firearm and attempted murder.
No further details have been released at this time.
Jackson said Smith will make his first appearance in court sometime this week.
