Inez Smith, age 76, passed away Monday, Oct. 16, 2017.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Noah and Agnes Smith; brothers, James C. Smith, Dan Scurlock and Buddy Smith; sisters, Laura Martin, Annie Mae Barr, Margaret Smith Averett, Bertice Smith Kinard and Kathleen Smith Patterson.

She is survived by her sons, Frankie (Lissa) Johnson, Kenneth Johnson and Michael Johnson; and daughter, Cathy Johnson (Paul) Portwood; brother, Jack (Pat) Smith; sisters, Kay (Johnny) Moseley and Jean (Brantley) Fondren; grandchildren, Bryan (Genevieve) Johnson, Christina Walker, Mitchell Johnson, Daniel Portwood, Harleigh Johnson and Corbin Johnson; great-grandchildren, Leo Johnson, Kylie Johnson and Alex Johnson; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be Friday Oct. 20, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home.

Interment will be in Pineview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Heart Association or the Selma Animal Shelter.
