ArtsRevive continues to do great work to help revitalize Water Avenue and downtown Selma, and a $58,424 grant from the Delta Regional Authority will help them continue that work.
The grant was announced earlier this week by Gov. Kay Ivey. It was part of $1 million in DRA investments to help strengthen the state’s infrastructure, workforce and economy. The grant is through the DRA States’ Economic Development Assistance Program.
Martha Lockett, executive director for ArtsRevive, said the money is around half of what they need to complete work on the Carneal Building, which has been under renovations. The money will help get the building heated and cooled.
ArtsRevive deserves a big round of applause. It is no easy task finding funding, but they have continuously found ways to raise the money and get grants.
We can’t wait to see the Carneal Building completed and what the future holds for it.
