Gladys Pearl Hughes Griffin passed away Sept. 24, 2017, at the age of 78. She was born March 13, 1939, to the late William Ollie and Willie Sirten Hughes.

Funeral services will be Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017, at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home with the Rev. Denny McClendon officiating. Interment will follow in Pineview Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5-7 p.m.

She was preceded in death by her children, Mary Katherine Griffin and William Ralph Griffin; and siblings, Murphy (Doris) Hughes, Eli (Lucille) Hughes, Mayburn (Lucille) Hughes, Wilburn Hughes, Mary Evelyn Hughes and Jimmy Hughes.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Ivy Jim Griffin Jr.; children, Phyllis Dean (Joe) Kuss, Jimmy Wayne Griffin, Gary Leaton (Martha Louise) Griffin Sr., Thomas Richard (Patricia Sue) Griffin and Brian Keith (Tracey) Griffin; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers, David Wayne (Amy) Hughes and Johnny Hughes; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Dallas Keith Griffin, Joe Kuss, William Tyler Griffin, Gary Leaton Griffin, Jr., Billy Sherrill and Richard Michael Billingsley, Jr.
