Dorothy Lee Strickland Lott passed away Sept. 25, 2017, at the age of 72. She was born June 17, 1945, to the late B.R. Strickland and Ida Dell Strickland.

Funeral services will be Friday, Sept. 29, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Safford Baptist Church with the Rev. Donald Harris officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.

Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. at Riverside Cemetery in Demopolis. The family will receive friends at Safford Baptist Church beginning at 10 a.m.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert P. Jones; later husband, W.C. “Bill” Lott; and brothers-in-law, E.B. Vann and James Sager.

She leaves behind her daughter, Christine Jones (Brian) Knepper; step-daughters, Rhonda Lott (Joseph) Hobson and Deborah Winslett; grandchildren, Clint Fuhrman, Amanda Fuhrman (Eric) Seckinger and Nathan (Tammy) Fuhrman; great-grandchildren, who affectionately dubbed her “MiMi Dot,” Jacob Fuhrman, Hannah Fuhrman, Connor Fuhrman and Zachary Quintero; loving and loyal companion for over 12 years, Clifford Sheehan; sisters, Mary Rose Vann, Dell Sager and Pamela Strickland; brothers, Junior (Faye) Strickland, Jack (Lisa) Strickland and Larry Strickland; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Lott loved her family, friends, church and community. She was happiest when she was working in her garden or watching the hummingbirds dance around the porch while listening to windchimes.

Pallbearers will be Brian Knepper, Eric Seckinger, Woodfin Caine, Nathan Fuhrman, Jacob Fuhrman and Clint Fuhrman. Honorary pallbearers will be Joseph Hobson, Pearce Caine, Carl Jernigan and Wayne Irby.
