Frances L. Benson passed away Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, at the age of 87. Mrs. Benson was born Jan. 21, 1930, to the late, William Byron Henley and Delphia Ruth Williams Henley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth M. Benson; son-in-law, Lonnie Jones; and sisters, Clarice Culp and Ettis Wells.

Mrs. Benson is survived by her children, Sandra Jones, Carolyn (Calvin) Girlie, Fay (Darrel) Siebert and Cathy (Benny) Carlee; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren; four sisters; two brothers; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2017, in the chapel of Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home with the Rev. Scott Girlie officiating. Interment will be directly following at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Clanton. Visitation will be at the funeral home beginning at 10 a.m.

Active pallbearers will be grandsons, Kenny Girlie, Kevin Jones, Benson Girlie, Corey Smith, Nathan Sansbury, Tyler Smith, Kaleb Jones and Christian Jones.

The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers and support in many heart-felt forms from extended family and friends. The family would also like to express sincere gratitude for the care provided by the Administration and Staff of the Lighthouse Rehab and Healthcare Facility.
