Mrs. Velma L. Walker, 80, of Marion Junction, passed away Sept. 6, 2017, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. Services are scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 16 at noon at New Vernon C.P. Church in Browns with the Rev. W.R. Twilley officiating.

Burial will follow in New Vernon Cemetery with Randall Miller Funeral Service directing.

She is survived by two sons, James Pettway and Timothy (Barbara) Pettway; three daughters, Theresa (Wayne) Davis Sr., Viola (Wayman) Petty and Janice Walker; brothers-in-law, Sam Acoff and Leumen Smith; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; host of nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, Laural Smith and Eva Lue Marshall.
