Irma to bring wind, rain to Selma

- Hurricane Irma is expected to bring Tropical Storm winds to parts of eastern Alabama.
While Hurricane Irma is forecast to bring Tropical Storm winds to eastern Alabama, Selma can expect gusts of 30-40 miles per hour and 1-3 inches of rain, according to the National Weather Service in Birmingham.
Dallas County is included in a wind advisory. Conditions are expected to deteriorate late Monday morning across southeast Alabama and move northward through the afternoon and into the evening.
A downed tree or power line is possible for Dallas County. However, the worst weather is expected in eastern Alabama, where a tropical storm warning is in place.
Roughly east of Interstate 65, wind gusts of 45-60 miles per hour are possible as well as 3-5 inches of rain, according to the weather service.
