Seafood lovers get ready! The Blackbelt Benefit Group’s annual Shuck ‘N’ Jive is coming up soon.
The annual oyster dinner will be Sept. 16 and is back at the Tally Ho this year after being at the Old Depot Museum.
Oysters will be served in a variety of ways, giving people options for their dinner.
“They’re all shucked to order,” said Tally Ho owner and Blackbelt Benefit Group member Paul Wilkerson.
The annual event has been going on for five years now and continues to grow and get better each year.
For those not familiar with the Blackbelt Benefit Group, the organizations raises money for local nonprofits and is behind several newer community events like the Farm to Feast, Art Jam, Rock ‘n’ Ribs Benefit and more.
The Blackbelt Benefit Group is also behind several local initiatives, notably the Grow Selma Community Garden.
So make plans to come out and support the Shuck ‘N’ Jive this Saturday. Rest assured, college football games will also be broadcast for Alabama and Auburn fans. There will also be live music.
The event will be held on the back deck at the Tally-Ho starting at 3 p.m. The event is free, but oysters will depending on the price of a case.
