Raffle to raise money for care, adoption of cats in Selma

Selma’s Purrrfect Pals helps care for and house kittens and cats in Selma. Kitten season is upon us, and they have been overwhelmed with the amount of kittens being brought in. The volunteers that help this organization run are doing it because they truly care for the animals.

Currently, they have nearly 30 kittens in foster homes from 3 to 10 weeks old. They are asking people to foster the kittens, and those interested can even foster to adopt up to the time of spay or neuter or regular adoption after that. All kittens will be up-to-date on all vaccinations, vet checked, spayed or neutered and micro-chipped for a $50 adoption fee. Many of the kittens they get need medical care, and vet bills add up, so they are asking for donations, or entries in a Father’s Day raffle. You may donate to Selma’s Purrrfect Pals at the Selma Animal Hospital.

Tickets for the raffle are $2 each or 3 for $5. They are available at Selma Animal Hospital or through Jacque Johnson. The winning ticket will be drawn on Saturday, June 24, and prizes include items like a Tad Moore putter, Orca cooler, Porter-Cable combo set, Realtree auto floormats, gift certificates from Mark’s Mart & Rountree Outdoors, Yeti tumbler, outdoor thermometer, socket set, pizza from Papa John’s, Lannie’s BBQ and beer-flavored jelly beans. Anyone interested in fostering or purchasing a raffle ticket can contact Johnson at 505-1226.
