All In Sports Outreach is all set to host their annual basketball and football camps on June 26-29.

The camp will run from 9 a.m. to 12 a.m. Kids ages 6-18 are encouraged to participate. Both girls and boys are able to attend.

“Sports are a way to bring people together,” co-founder and vice president of All in Sports outreach Rand Smith said. “It gives people the chance to look past where they come from, their race, their background and their economic status.”

All in Sports Outreach’s goal is to share the hope and power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and promote unity. The organization does this by putting on activities such as the camps.

Each sport will be given 45 minutes each and a time out break will be inserted in between the two. During the break, kids will be provided water and possibly snacks. This time will also be used as a time for the kids to share a scripture from the Bible or an experience they had and a chance for several volunteers to share what drove them to Christ.

“The goal of our camp is to share the gospel of Jesus to the younger generation,” Smith said.

The basketball camp will take place at the YMCA of Selma-Dallas County and the Wallace Community College Selma. The football camp will take place at Southside High School’s football field.

Several high school, youth and even local college coaches will be on hand to assist with the camp’s day to day activities. The camp will go over basic basketball and football skills, while still striving to provide the authentic competitive sports camp experience.

Kids will have the opportunity to win individual awards by showing good character and morals while competing during the camp. These awards can be the most hard working, best sportsmanship, best attitude and many other ones that express a trait that can be used in the sports world as well as in the real world.

‘’If the kids do not learn anything about football and basketball during this camp; they will learn that they are saved by the perfect savior and that is worth way more,” Smith said.
