YMCA has lots to offer children this summer

If children are looking for somewhere to go and something to do this summer while school is out, the YMCA of Selma and Dallas County just might be the place to go.

The Y has two different programs for children this summer, Power Scholars Academy and Summer Day Camp. Power Scholars is an academic and enrichment program for first through fifth grades. The camp helps children maintain what they learned over the school year.

Summer Say Camp, which will be near the end of summer, will be more about just having fun. It will include activities like swimming, arts and crafts and field trips.

The Y also has activities for older children, such as kayaking in the pool. There is also plenty to do for adults, such as the many workout programs like barre class and kickboxing the Y has to offer.

The Y is a great resource for the community and offers something for everyone. We encourage people that have never been to the Y to give it a shot. It is a great place to be active and meet new people in the community. To learn more about the Y’s summer activities, visit www.ymcaofselma.org.
