Sandra “Sandy” Cooper Dickinson

Sandra “Sandy” Cooper Dickinson, 71, passed from this life on Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at her home in Middletown, Maryland.
Born on March 20, 1946, in Selma, to the late A. Edward Cooper and Adell Smith Lewellen Cooper. Sandra was the loving wife of Ronald “Ron” Dickinson for 48 years.
She was a homemaker and devoted wife, mother, grandma, sister, aunt, cousin and friend who will be deeply missed. She loved and cherished her family and friends, especially her grandsons; they were her heart. Sandra enjoyed antiques, collecting dolls, Elvis and the Alabama Crimson Tide (“Roll Tide Roll!”).
She is survived by her husband, Ronald Dickinson; son, Lee Dickinson of Frederick; beloved grandsons, Tyler Dickinson of Frederick and Ryan Dickinson of Bel Air, Maryland; sisters, Joyce Ross (Ronnie) of Belvidere, New Jersey and Nelda Johnson of Kennewick, Washington; brother, Noel Cooper (Patricia) of Selma; sister-in-law, Eunice Lewellen of Selma; devoted cousin, Nadine Weathington (Jerry) of Tucson, Arizona; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; as well as very special friends, Leon and Nadiene Hewerdine, Craig and Theresa Sullivan, Amy Powell, Gary and Terri Shafer, Devese Beverly, Marie Gobleck, Peggy Lewis, Jackie Molette, Lois Caver and so many others too numerous to mention, but you know who you are and how much you meant to Sandra and we thank you for being there for her. She cherished her time with each one of you.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters-in-law, J. C. and Sally Lewellen, Paul and Doris Lewellen and Rudolph Lewellen; brother-in-law, J. N. Johnson; nieces, Sherry Tyler and Chloe Cooper; nephews, Clayton Cooper, Glenn Lewellen and Rudy Lewellen; and parents, uncles, aunts and numerous cousins.
A celebration of Sandra’s life journey took place at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 1, 2017, at Valley Baptist Church in Middletown with pastors Larry Nelson and Michael Knight officiating.
Inurnment will be held on May 20, 2017, at 11:30 a.m., at New Live Oak Cemetery in Selma.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Valley Baptist Church, Benevolence Fund, 5678 Holter Road, P. O. Box 740, Middletown, MD. 21769.
