Roosevelt Hall, 81, a resident of Selma, passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2017, at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at 11 a.m. at New Sister Spring Baptist Church with pastor Karl Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in the Churchyard Cemetery with Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing.

Roosevelt Hall was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Lue Ella Hall of Selma; daughter, Monica Harold; son, Cedric Hall; brother, Aaron Lewis; and four sisters, Rosie Lee Shannon, minister Patricia D. Edwards, Annie Jean Woods and Augustine Hall.

Roosevelt Hall was born Aug. 23, 1935, to the late Richard and Lue Ella Hall of Selma. He confessed to Christ at an early age and joined New Sister Spring Baptist Church of Selma where he remained a faithful member until his health failed him. He was a dedicated employee of The Selma Times-Journal for over 40 years before his retirement.

He leaves to cherish him memories a loving and devoted wife, Geraldine T. Hall of Selma; four sons, Freddie (Catherine) Walker of Birmingham, Stefon and Randy Hall of Selma, and Terrance (Natlie) Hall of Petersburg, Virginia; six daughters, Linda Walker of Buffalo, New York, Ella Hall Holman, Phillis (Willie) Love, Myrna (Eddie) Blackman, all of Montgomery, Evangaline (Stevon) Colston of Hawaii and Wanda Smith and her brother of Selma; his brothers, Johnny (Maggie) and Joseph Hall of Selma, and Willie (Essie) Hall of Birmingham; four sisters, Sadie Frison of Bessemer, Hattie Smith, Margaret Martin, all of Selma, Josephine (Jean) Joseph of Brooklyn, New York; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

He also leaves behind his beloved sister and brothers-in-law, Henry Turner, Hollywood, Florida; Jesse, Jhonny, Levi (Tracy), Edward, Brenda and Barbara Turner, all of Atlanta, Georgia; and Minnie T. Fikes of Selma.
