The victim, who was shot in the leg, is in his 40s. According to an incident report, the call came in around 11:56 p.m.

“He was taken to DCH [Regional Medical Center] in Tuscaloosa,” Neely said, adding he was unsure of the victim’s medical status Monday afternoon. “It was a pretty nasty wound.”

Neely said the shots came from somewhere down the street. Witnesses were unclear where the shots were fired from because it was so dark.

“Somebody was down the street shooting,” Neely said.

No arrest has been made in the case, and no suspects have been identified. Neely said the incident is still under investigation.
