One man is in critical condition while two others are stable after a triple shooting Friday night.

According to Selma Police Chief Spencer Collier, the shooting happened around 8:30 p.m. on the 300 block of South Avenue.

Lt. Tory Neely with the Criminal Investigations Division said the incident happened after a group of guys from the Twenty Foot Avenue area got into a confrontation with someone from the Kings Bend Road area that was hanging out with someone in the Twenty Foot area.

“It caused a confrontation, which the guy that was visiting they tried to get him in the house, and then it went too far and somebody started shooting,” Neely said Saturday.

According to Collier, a 25-year-old man, 30-year-old man and a 31-year-old man were shot.

The police chief said the 25-year-old and 31-year-old were airlifted to an out of county hospital for further treatment.

“One was shot in the head, one was shot in the upper right chest and one was shot in the right lower stomach area,” Neely said.

According to Collier, as of Saturday afternoon two are in stable condition, and the other is still listed as in critical.

No arrests have been made in the case yet. Collier said the department’s recently formed Crime Suppression Unit has been assigned to the case and are actively working it.
