A Jones teenager has been arrested and charged with four counts of attempted murder and discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle.

On Monday, detectives with the Selma Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division arrested Juwan Donta Howard, 19.

Two juveniles, 16 and 14 years old, were also arrested, according to authorities. The police department did not provide any additional information on the juvenile suspects or their charges.

A fourth suspect has been identified as Delronn Gerome Maynard and has warrants out for his arrest for four counts of attempted murder and discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle.

The charges stem from the investigation of a drive-by shooting that occurred in the 200 block of Cecil Jackson Bypass near Race Street on Sunday at approximately 11:40 p.m.

Two people were injured in the drive-by shooting. A woman was treated and released from Vaughan Regional Medical Center, while a man was taken to Baptist South in Montgomery for additional treatment. Two other people were in the car as it was shot multiple times, according to authorities.

According to Neely, investigators identified Howard as the primary suspect and learned the two juveniles and Maynard were also involved.

Detectives arrested Howard at his home in Autauga County and recovered an AK-47 assault rifle and Wesson 40 caliber handguns. Detectives also recovered a 1996 burgundy Jaguar from the home, which is believed to be the car used in the drive-by shooting.

Howard was booked in the Dallas County Jail on four counts of attempted murder and one count of discharging a firearm into an occupied building. He is being held without bond.

Maynard is wanted on the same attempted murder and discharging a firearm charges.

He will be held without bond pending his arrest.
