Time is running out for anyone who wants to register to play in the 20th annual Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament on April 19.

Landon Nichols, destination and marketing coordinator for the chamber, said the tournament is limited to 20 teams this year due to the number of golf carts available.

“Anybody who wants to register is definitely encouraged to do that as soon as possible,” Nichols said. “Last year, it came down to the last minute, and there were a few teams that unfortunately that weren’t able to get in the tournament because we didn’t have enough carts and that will almost certainly happen again this year.”

The cost to register is $80 per player or $240 per team, which includes two mulligans per player and for each of the special contests — closest to the pin, inside the circle, longest drive, the Pepsi cup and advantage hole.

“Not only does it also help raise a little more money for a great cause, but it’s a really fun way to boost your game and maybe get that competitive edge on your teammates,” Nichols said of the special holes.

The tournament is a three-person scramble that will start at 11 a.m.

Registration will be completed by 10:30 a.m. on the morning of the tournament. Lunch will be provided for all participants.

Sponsorships are also available at three different levels.

Tournament sponsorships cost $500, hole sponsorships are $125 and a par-3 hole sponsorships are also available.

Hole sponsors have a logo on the hole they sponsor, par-3 sponsors get the sign on the hole, get lunch provided and get to set up a table or tent and tournament sponsors get a hole sponsorship, lunch, recognition in the chamber newsletter and get their name on promotional items given away to the golfers.

Tournament sponsors also get a team, a cart and two mulligans per player.

“It’s a ton of our community’s mover and shakers and leaders playing so when they see that, it’s a great way to get some exposure for your business or organization,” Nichols said of sponsorship opportunities.

Checks should be made payable to the Selma and Dallas County Chamber of Commerce and mailed to 912 Selma Avenue, Selma, AL 36701. Tournament hole sponsorships and team registration fees may also be purchased via credit card.
