Last Thursday, International Paper’s Foundation awarded $65,000 in grants to local schools and nonprofit organizations and agencies.

The grants will be used to help fund classroom projects and libraries at 18 local schools, from elementary schools to Concordia College Alabama.

The grants were also given to local nonprofits and agencies like the Fourth Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office.

Since 1952, the International Paper Company Foundation has provided these grants and has awarded more than $10 million in communities the company serves.

International Paper Riverdale Mill already has an important role in the community as Dallas County’s largest employer by several hundreds employees.

However, the mill works with the Foundation to make an even greater impact through giving back to the community, and these grants are a key part of that but certainly not the only work the company does at home. The company and its employees are huge supporters of the United Way’s annual campaign and help with many other local projects.

We appreciate all the work International Paper does with its annual grants and in the community.
