Pay attention to forecast this week

It’s not quite time to rush to the store and buy all of the bread and milk just yet, but there’s a chance Selma might get some wintry weather this weekend.
Whether that means snow — which seems more likely for the northern part of the state — or just ice and slush remains to be seen. We could still end up receiving no winter weather at all.
Forecasters will have a better idea tomorrow and will be able to more confidently discuss the upcoming weather as more time passes.
As the weekend draws closer, the important thing is to continue checking the forecast.
It’s not often that Alabama gets any kind of wintry precipitation but Selma gets it very rarely, so any kind of precipitation mixed with freezing temperatures could cause a real headache.
Other states to the north are well prepared for the problems ice and snow create on the roadways, but in the South we aren’t.
All we can do right now is wait and see what happens.
We just ask readers to pay attention, just in case a little snow comes our way this weekend.
