Calvin Jonathan Clark

Calvin Jonathan Clark, age 63, passed away early on Nov. 16, 2016, after a three-day battle with sepsis.
Calvin was born and raised in Selma by Calvin R. and Eleanor Clark, along with his older sister, Suzanne (Prosser).
He was active in Boy Scouts, a member of the Order of the Arrow and achieving the rank of Eagle Scout.
He moved to Birmingham after attending the University of Montevallo, then transferring to the University of Alabama in Birmingham and graduating with an associate degree in applied science from the Respiratory Therapy Program. Calvin worked at University Hospital and then South Highlands/HealthSouth Hospital until 2004.
He married Andrea Mohon-Prestridge, and they have one daughter, Katelyn Elizabeth (Clark) Cole, who resides in Birmingham with her husband, Joshua.
He is also survived by his mother, Eleanor Eslinger Clark of Selma; sister, Suzanne Clark Prosser (Sherman Lee) of Wichita Falls, Texas; and two nieces, Holly Christina Prosser of Austin, Texas and Michelle Marie Prosser, a student at the University of North Texas.
A celebration of Calvin’s life was held at Valley Christian Church, 2600 Cherokee Place, Mountain Brook, AL, on Saturday, Nov. 19. Graveside services followed at Elmwood Cemetery.
