The Selma American Legion Post 20 will hold its annual Veterans Day program on Friday, Nov. 11 at 10:45 a.m. at Memorial Stadium. The guest speaker at the service will be Colonel Thad Mauldin, who is retired from the U.S. Air Force. He is a native of Selma and a 1960 graduate of Parrish High School.

We simply cannot do enough to thank our veterans for their service. They are our nation’s true heroes.

The least we can do is attend Friday’s service to show our local veterans how much we appreciate what they’ve done for our country. Nothing would send a message of “thank you” better than a big crowd at Friday’s service.

Right after, the Selma Rotary Club will be on hand to serve a light lunch.
