Ricky L. James Sr., 64, of Montgomery, passed away Sept. 21, 2016, in Montgomery.

Services are scheduled for Oct. 1, 2016, at noon at New Shady Grove with Bishop B.A. Scott Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Harrison cemetery with Randall Miller Funeral Service directing.

He is preceded in death by his spouse, Demetra A. James; parents, Berry James Sr. and Mary James Haye; and son, Julian C. James.

He is survived by three sons, Ricky Lynn James Jr., Eric D. James and Marcus C. James; four daughters, Aneatria (Malcolm) Leason, Erica Polk, Anna Lynn Murphy and Vicky Mitchell; four brothers, Berry James of Chicago, Kirk James of Chicago, Jared James of Cary, North Carolina, and Christopher James of Atlanta; three sisters, Pearl Dubose of Chicago, Emma Henry-Moore of Chicago and Bertha Townsend of Chicago; six grandchildren; host of nieces and nephews; Frank and Jessica Hardy and Ivy Marsh; brothers-in-law, William “Bill” Ragland and Lamar Townsend; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Scott, Sabrina Scott, Jeneise Barlow, Ida Marie Wright, Catherine James, Vera James, Rosalyn James and Rachel Alexander.
