19-year-old shot Wednesday afternoon walking down First Avenue

A 19-year-old Selma man was shot three times Wednesday evening while walking home on First Avenue.

According to Lt. Sam Miller with the Selma Police Department, someone jumped out from behind a tree and fired shots at the 19-year-old victim.

The shooting happened around 5 p.m. Wednesday, and no arrest had been made by Thursday afternoon.

Miller said the victim, who was shot in the arm, ankle and back, was able to make it home before calling police. He was then transported to Vaughan Regional Medical Center for treatment.
