A vital step in the effort to form the Selma Children’s Chorus and Orchestra will take place Friday and Saturday.
The chorus and orchestra is inviting all children entering the second and third grades to attend a free choir workshop that will be conducted by Judson College music professor Camilla Horne.
The workshop will take place at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.
Horne said she believes all children can sing and hopes to provide a comfortable, friendly environment where students can start to realize their musical potential. She said everyone should feel welcome at the workshop.
The workshop will begin Friday at 5:30 p.m. with a meal. Students will participate in several musical activities and learn several age appropriate songs. The workshop will continue Saturday morning at 9:30 and culminate with a musical performance for family and friends at 11:30. To learn more about the workshop or choir, contact Horne at (334) 874-8421 (ext. 102) or email SelmaChildrensChorus@gmail.com. Information is also on online at facebook.com/SelmaChildrensChorus.
